Chizhou is an ecological green city with stunning natural scenery.Renowned for its famous mountains, graceful waters, selenium-rich land and fresh air, Chizhou features a forest coverage rate of 61.1%, serving as a vital ecological barrier for the Yangtze River Delta. Major rivers here maintain water quality of Grade II to III or above, and its atmospheric environmental quality consistently ranks among the top in Anhui Province. Its per capita wetland area, water resources and forest area are 2.5 times, 4.2 times and 6.2 times the provincial average respectively. It is among the first national pilot cities for sponge city construction, a National Green Ecological Demonstration Urban Area, and one of the first pilot cities for integrated elderly care in the Yangtze River Delta.
